Joaquim Conde grew up in the Minho Valley. He moved to Canada when he was 18, but always knew that he’d be living on his grandparents’ land once again.

 

After opening up an automotive repair shop in Toronto and welcoming his daughter Marisol, he began to notice that he’d put on a few pounds. He soon realized that the lifestyle he was living was leaving him feeling lethargic so he started to make some changes. After welcome his son Isaac, Joaquim really started to prioritize healthy living with a focus on food and a goal of becoming a better, healthier version of himself for his children.

 

As his passion for healthy living grew, so did his curiosity about sustainable living.  After meeting his wife Amor and moving north to Prince Edward County in Ontario, he had a chance to put all that he knew and all that he was passionate about into practice at Quinta do Conde.

 

Quinta do Conde offered subscription-based farm-fresh food boxes, nature camps for children, pop-up lunches in the community, farm-to-table dinner experiences, and a variety of gourmet products including pasture-raised meats and Joaquim's own brand of organic, extra virgin olive oil. After 10 years of making many new friends and curating wonderful experiences Joaquim and Amor sold the farm and set off for a new adventure in his hometown.

 

You will usually see Joaquim with a smile on his face because he feels incredibly lucky to be doing what he does and even more lucky to be able to share it with others.
